Europe is experiencing a time of turmoil and tumult. What is about to happen? We do not know the details, but we do know that the repercussions and consequences are going to be exceedingly serious.
There is going to be disruption and upheaval.
Circumstances in the United States of America appear equally distressing.
People have moved so far away from the Word of God that it will take a might move of the Holy Spirit to turn around the tide.
This is where strong powerful leadership will become crucial and critical and essential. But will there be such leadership? We see no such courageous leadership emerging at the moment but of course, that can change, especially when Almighty God is in control.
When I read the New Testament I see disciples of Jesus Christ who sought to please God. Jesus Christ Himself was a Father-pleaser and He says to us, "Follow Me".
That answers and resolves an awful lot for me. Might it help you in a similar way?
We have to be willing to face our emotions and there is much fear and anxiety around.
It is only right that we understand why all this arose and many have that answer, although few might be willing to accept it.
There are biblical principles and if we move from these basic fundamental principles then no matter what we may try to build and no matter what decisions may by made by Governments, if there is no sound solid foundation nothing will stand for long. It will crash.
There were even times when Jesus Christ was troubled and deeply moved. We read of one occasion in John Chapter 11. Jesus went and prayed and that is spelled out for us again clearly in Mark Chapter 14.
Do read these passages because you may need to put them into practice very soon.
"The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!" The first recorded words of Jesus Christ in Mark's Gospel may come as a surprise to some, but from the outset Jesus was serious, and He remains serious.
Eternal issues are far too serious for trivial superficial remarks - and even worse, jokes.
Repent. Turn around from the way you are going, change your mind, and believe the good news. Simple, but few find it easy. Have a long look at Mark Chapter 1 too.
We turn away from those things God hates, to the things God loves and longs to see demonstrated in our lives.
Do we not also hate those things God hates? We do something, or let harsh cruel words flow, which we later regret.
We realise that this is such a vital matter, even though we may not want to admit it.
Is that not why Jesus began preaching what is crucial? He went for the most important area, knowing that suffering and pain is caused by sin, or has sin somewhere at its root.
Here is the radical Jesus going for the root problem, at the start of His ministry.
God wants to release people who have been bound, chained, and imprisoned, by an enemy.
Do not let sin rob you of what God wants you to be and to have.
A kingdom at that time was an area ruled by a king, who was in total charge. When you were under the power of the king, you were under his control.
This new King Jesus, now on the world's stage, was all about freedom, forgiveness, healing, being set free, grace and peace.
Jesus sought to meet the various needs of the people who came to Him, and many did. Mark gives us the details.
When the foundation is laid, it becomes slightly easier to build.
The situation is increasingly serious and God would have us prepare now for whatever we may have to face in the very near future.
Surely that is dynamic good news so needed by all.
