Hypnosis Tips: How To Slip Your Ideas Into The Minds Of Others

Everybody's seen the movie, "Inception," right? How they can secretly plant ideas into the minds of others? That would be amazing, wouldn't it! Just for a moment, imagine you could really do that. You could slip ideas into other people's minds. What ideas would you put there?
"Buy my product." "Give me your phone number." "That's a great idea!"
But that's fiction right? Not really. The truth is there really is a way to get people to think the way you want them to. Of course, you should never abuse this. You should always make sure that the ideas you are getting other people to think are things they want to do anyway, right?
See, although you can abuse this power, it's not a good idea. Not just for moral or ethical reasons. Because if you do, people are going to know, and they are going to be very angry. So don't do it!
That being said, how do you use this wonderful technique of covert hypnosis?
Simple. It involves using a kind of vague language, in a way that they will have to fill in the blanks, in their mind, with their own experience.
For example, if you said, "Imagine the perfect piece of pizza, with cheese and mushrooms and some shiny anchovies on top, all topped with extra hot sauce!" Now, that would only make them hungry if they liked the same thing you liked. Most people don't like pizza with anchovies and hot sauce, so that sentence probably wouldn't work with too many people.
But how about this sentence:
"Imagine the perfect dish, right in front of you. Imagine smelling it right now, exactly the way you like it. Now look at it. Imagine the perfect colors, the perfect shape, and the perfect size. Imagine me giving you that, right now, saying, this is all for you to enjoy exactly how you want."
That's much, much better. You have to fill in the blanks, and unless you've just eaten, you probably are starting to get a little bit hungry. And here's the best part. I don't even need to know what kind of food you like, but I've already got you imagining your favorite food. Now what if we were sitting in a park or something, and I wanted to ask you to have dinner with me. This would make it much more likely that you would join me!
The good news is that there are many, many different ways to use this technology, to use other people's ideas to get them to do just want you want, for their own reasons. This not only means that there won't be any resistance, but it also means they'll be very glad, and want to do it again for you in the future!

Major Benefits Of Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a form of psychotherapy treatment used by mental health professionals or doctors to cure a patient's emotional and psychological problems. This therapy makes use of hypnosis and has few risks and no side effects. Hypnosis is an altered state of mind where a person is said to have heightened focus and concentration. In this state an individual is more open to self-exploration and is able to deeply focus on inner thoughts by dissociating from the environment.
Hypnotherapy can be used to treat a wide range of human concerns. This therapy has proved to be very useful and has delivered excellent results. Here are some benefits which you can derive from Hypnotherapy:
Helps in Reducing Stress - Stress has become very common in people of all ages owing to hectic work schedules. It can cause serious health concerns like high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity and sleep disorders. If you are not able to get your stress levels under controls with diet, exercise and medication, then probably it is time to try hypnotherapy. It will put you in a state of relaxation which will give your mind and body some time to heal.
Helps in Treating Addictions - Food, alcohol, smoking and gambling addictions can be cured by hypnotherapy. Different styled and techniques are used during several complex sessions which help you regain control of your thoughts and actions. They not only help in breaking addictions but also make sure that you don't relapse and become addicted again.
Helps in Reducing Weight - Hypnotherapy has proved to be 30% more effective than dieting when it comes to weight loss. If you have tried every other way and are unable to lose the desired pounds, this technique is a must try. It will work best when combined with a good weight-management plan.
Helps in Managing Chronic Pain - Intense pain occurring due to Arthritis, Migraine and Fibromyalgia can be effectively brought under control with hypnotherapy. It will give you a head start in managing and controlling pain quickly. It will not only help in reducing the length of the pain but will also reduce the frequency of pain attacks.
Helps in Promoting Relaxation - When you have a relaxed mind, you can become more creative, less irritable and less prone to heart diseases.
Helps in Treating Anxiety and Depression - Many people don't pay much attention to these conditions and avoid taking any medication, which can lead to serious concerns. Hypnotherapy is an effective way to calm anxiety and treat symptoms of depression.
Hypnotherapy is one of the safest and quickest ways to treat several human problems. Doctors have become increasingly supportive of this non-evasive therapy as an aide to better health.

Limiting Beliefs Belong in the Trash Heap

Expert Author Connie Brannan
People often seek very specific habit and behavioral changes. "I want to quit smoking!" "I want to stay away from the sugar!" "I want to sleep better." And so on. With hypnotherapy and NLP, you can do that. However, in the course of accomplishing these things, larger ways of thinking must change as well. Success happens when there is a change in thinking about self and the world by way of removing limiting beliefs.
What is a limiting belief? It's an idea/feeling about self and the world that gets lodged in the brain that limits a person. It limits their full expression and enjoyment of life. Examples of some limiting beliefs: "I'm not good enough." "I can't do it." "I'm not worthy." "No one could love me." "I'm a victim in the world." These are not truths about anyone. These are simply ideas, that can and should change.
Here's an analogy. Imagine getting a rock caught in your shoe. It makes walking difficult. It hurts! You COULD continue to walk with it in there, and suffer more. But why? Why not take your shoe off for a moment, and shake it out! Put your shoe back on and life is immediately more comfortable. Suddenly you can go places, and it's easy.
A person might wonder: why is that rock in the shoe, how did it get there? My answer: It doesn't matter. Let's do the work now to remove it. And it's easy to do that.
Beliefs are the framework within which behavior manifests. Or doesn't.
Remember Henry Ford, the automaker? He said: "If you think you can, or you think you can't, you're right!" This is true. "I can't do it" leads to fear, avoidance, inconsistency, etc. with an end result of not doing it, whatever it is. "I can do it" fuels confidence, energy, motivation, and so on. The beliefs we hold impact feelings, inner vision, inner dialog, and our behaviors in the world.
A person's limiting beliefs are probably the most nasty, destructive things I encounter in my NLP and hypnotherapy help work. They negatively impact every aspect of a person's life, from personal and business relationships, to financial success, to health, learning, and so on! This is precisely why I love helping a person to remove them so much. Limiting beliefs are garbage, and they belong in the trash heap! That's an essential part of successful change-putting them there.
Belief changes are the REAL changes, the power changes. The specific behavioral changes (I lost weight or I quit smoking) are really a lesser deal. They are simply a byproduct of new empowered beliefs.

Meaning of Hypnotherapy

Expert Author Awnish Todi
Hypnotherapy is a form of psychological treatment, used to create certain subconscious changes in a patient. These changes maybe in the form of different new responses, thoughts, attitudes, feelings or even behavioural changes.
Hypnotherapy, as the name suggests is done with help of hypnosis. So the person who is hypnotized, displays unusual behavioural characteristics like heightened responsiveness, as compared to non-hypnotized people.
One thing to be understood well, is that hypnotherapy is performed and should only be performed by medically trained hypnotherapists. There are a lot of people who use hypnotherapy as a means to make people vulnerable. That is a major offence.
The purpose of hypnotherapy, as mentioned by Dr John Kappas, founder of the Hypnosis Motivation Institute, is simply, "Inducing a state of hypnosis in a client or patient, to increase or alter behavioural patterns."
Let us now see how hypnotherapy has changed over the course of time.
Traditional Hypnotherapy
• This was a form of hypnotherapy practiced majorly during the Victorian era. The method employed was mainly direct suggestions, in order to remove symptoms by way of therapeutically relaxing the patient.
• There were also instances when a patient would be given Aversion treatment i.e. exposure to external stimuli, like drugs or alcohol.
• It must be noted that for a time period where research had not advanced to such a high degree, any form of hypnotherapy was actually quite an achievement. The times saw some renowned hypnotherapists like James Braid flourish.
Ericksonian Hypnotherapy
• Named after Milton.H. Erickson, this was a very different form of hypnosis, where Erickson made use of conversations to deal with patients.
• He would begin informal conversations, laced with complex language patterns and therapeutic strategies. This was a very big divergence from traditional hypnotherapy and hence, much criticised as well.
Cognitive/Behavioural Hypnotherapy
• It is a form of integrated psychological treatment, where hypnotherapists use clinical hypnosis and cognitive behavioural treatment (CBT).
• The research on CBT being used in alliance with hypnotherapy has revealed greater treatment effectiveness. People reported about 70% greater improvement.
• The use of CBT hypnotherapy has become widespread and is also very helpful for behavioural analysis among people with tendencies (criminal or otherwise).
Usage of Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is used mainly to help treat or simply control conditions. Various forms of disorders like depression, anxiety, etc. are brought under control by way of hypnosis. In the Victorian times, there were large number of reports stating use of hypnotherapy to deal with hysteria. Modern usage is also found in order to treat any unnecessary fears, irrational thoughts, treating insomnia (sleeplessness) and also cure alcohol and other substance addictions.
Hypnotherapy helps majorly in dealing with certain non-psychological conditions, like post-operation procedures, cancer care, etc.
An interesting fact is that hypnotherapy has been used for a long time during childbirth. It is used to prepare the woman for the childbirth and also in order to reduce anxiety or pain during labour.
We often hear the term 'talking down'. This is also a form of hypnotherapy, where a person is talked down to normalcy. We call it manipulation sometimes, but it is an effective form of hypnotherapy used in day to day life.
Having understood the usages of hypnotherapy, let us now understand what makes hypnotherapy important.
Benefits of Hypnotherapy
1. Hypnosis helps to treat addictions. It helps induce a state of calm in addicts, so that they are able to control the urge to substance abuse.
2. Hypnosis helps in pain management. In case of disease like cancer, where the pain is often beyond imagination, plain medication does not help. Hypnotherapy helps strengthen the mind. This helps to deal with the pain.
3. Stress can be reduced. When people have a tendency to take unnecessary stress, very often meditation and yoga is not much help. It is a psychological issue. This is treated effectively with hypnotherapy.
4. Helps cure sleep disorder. Excessive sleep, insomnia etc. can be cured pretty effectively with timely hypnotherapy.
5. It helps recover buried memories that could be causing the current problems. The subconscious often hides very painful memories and it becomes hard to recall them normally. Hypnotherapy helps recover such memories.
6. Hypnosis helps deal with anxiety and depression. Both these disorders, play heavily on psychology.
Thus, modern day Hypnotherapy is a major boon to society at large.

Why The Pros And Cons Columns, Are Valuable For Leaders?

Expert Author Richard Brody
Have you ever personally, or witnessed anyone else, take out a lined piece of paper, draw a vertical line down the middle of the page, and considered a situation or option, by listing the reasons to do it (pros), versus the contra-indications (cons)? Wouldn't it make sense, that using a similar approach, would be extremely beneficial, for those serving in positions of leadership? Nearly every issue has both benefits, as well as weaknesses, and a true leader, must consider issues on a risk/reward basis, and consider whether a proposal makes sense, where the ramifications of procrastination, were far more dire than the potential consequences of taking forward-looking action. Using a pros versus cons column-approach, helps one clearly focus on the best approach, and action plan.
1. Clarify/identify: How can anyone properly decide or consider, unless he clearly conceives and perceives of potential issues, needs, priorities and concerns, and how a particular approach, might impact, either positively or negatively? Begin by identifying the issue and plan, and seriously consider how and when to proceed!
2. Weighs issues (risks versus rewards): Remember there is almost always more than one way to proceed, or one approach. These columns helps you objectively and thoroughly weigh the issues, and determine whether the potential risks are less than, or greater than the possible rewards. In addition, doing so, should help weigh the probabilities and ramifications, and to propel one forward in a timely manner.
3. Eyes wide-open (consider ramifications): Beware of the hype, because it often drums-on louder than rational solutions. Great leaders must be idealistic, while maintaining a sufficient degree of pragmatism, in order to avoid merely spinning their wheels, or wasting time on perhaps-popular, yet often, empty rhetoric. Listen far more than you speak, and consider, without prejudgment, alternatives, so you can opt for the one with the best potential, and seems to make the most sense. There are both positive, as well as negative ramifications of every action, including the often, most dire one, which stems from procrastination!
4. Objective, idealistic pragmatism: Being idealistic, at the same time as pragmatic, is often perceives as being somewhat of an oxymoron! However, in reality, it is not, because, unless you determine a way to implement your idealistic approach, the plan will go nowhere, and achieve even less!
5. Helps become honest with self: One of the rarest considered obstacles of effectively leading, is being honest, not only with others, but with yourself! By putting the pros and cons, onto paper, it helps you focus on reality, in a well-conceived and considered manner!
It might sound corny, silly, or simplistic, to follow this procedure, but it is often the best way to begin one's deliberations, considerations and decision-making. If you decide to lead, give yourself the best chance to be the best one, you can be!

Might the Cry Soon Be for Courageous Leadership With Integrity, Decency, and Gracious Authority?

Expert Author Sandy Shaw
Europe is experiencing a time of turmoil and tumult. What is about to happen? We do not know the details, but we do know that the repercussions and consequences are going to be exceedingly serious.
There is going to be disruption and upheaval.
Circumstances in the United States of America appear equally distressing.
People have moved so far away from the Word of God that it will take a might move of the Holy Spirit to turn around the tide.
This is where strong powerful leadership will become crucial and critical and essential. But will there be such leadership? We see no such courageous leadership emerging at the moment but of course, that can change, especially when Almighty God is in control.
When I read the New Testament I see disciples of Jesus Christ who sought to please God. Jesus Christ Himself was a Father-pleaser and He says to us, "Follow Me".
That answers and resolves an awful lot for me. Might it help you in a similar way?
We have to be willing to face our emotions and there is much fear and anxiety around.
It is only right that we understand why all this arose and many have that answer, although few might be willing to accept it.
There are biblical principles and if we move from these basic fundamental principles then no matter what we may try to build and no matter what decisions may by made by Governments, if there is no sound solid foundation nothing will stand for long. It will crash.
There were even times when Jesus Christ was troubled and deeply moved. We read of one occasion in John Chapter 11. Jesus went and prayed and that is spelled out for us again clearly in Mark Chapter 14.
Do read these passages because you may need to put them into practice very soon.
"The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!" The first recorded words of Jesus Christ in Mark's Gospel may come as a surprise to some, but from the outset Jesus was serious, and He remains serious.
Eternal issues are far too serious for trivial superficial remarks - and even worse, jokes.
Repent. Turn around from the way you are going, change your mind, and believe the good news. Simple, but few find it easy. Have a long look at Mark Chapter 1 too.
We turn away from those things God hates, to the things God loves and longs to see demonstrated in our lives.
Do we not also hate those things God hates? We do something, or let harsh cruel words flow, which we later regret.
We realise that this is such a vital matter, even though we may not want to admit it.
Is that not why Jesus began preaching what is crucial? He went for the most important area, knowing that suffering and pain is caused by sin, or has sin somewhere at its root.
Here is the radical Jesus going for the root problem, at the start of His ministry.
God wants to release people who have been bound, chained, and imprisoned, by an enemy.
Do not let sin rob you of what God wants you to be and to have.
A kingdom at that time was an area ruled by a king, who was in total charge. When you were under the power of the king, you were under his control.
This new King Jesus, now on the world's stage, was all about freedom, forgiveness, healing, being set free, grace and peace.
Jesus sought to meet the various needs of the people who came to Him, and many did. Mark gives us the details.
When the foundation is laid, it becomes slightly easier to build.
The situation is increasingly serious and God would have us prepare now for whatever we may have to face in the very near future.
Surely that is dynamic good news so needed by all.
